Native Theater is thriving!

From Native Voices at The Autry, to Yale Indigenous Performing Arts Program’s Young Native Playwrights Competition, Native Theater is thriving! New stage productions are bringing groundbreaking, multi generational Indigenous stories to people across the country. In the wake of AI issues and several union strikes, the theater has provided the public with a new way to watch. People of all ages and walks of life have flocked to local stages to see cutting edge live Native theater.

In addition, Native Voices has announced the EMBERS Young Native Playwrights Program! This FREE online course is offered to Native youth, grades 7–12 who are interested in writing. Playwrights and Native Voices leadership team, Jennifer Bobiwash and DeLanna Studi, will lead online weekly classes beginning April 13, 2024.
